Super Bugman Extreme Ultra
SyKoHPaTh is an independent (indie) game developer. He spends all of his free-time hobby-programming games, which is about 4 hours per week...life is busy!
On one fated Saturday, a friend brought over a BASIC "How to program" book. The two 5th graders entered various "PRINT" commands and a love of programming was born in one of the students. Every day after school, the child created simple programs, and while nothing noteworthy was made, the unreadable code snippets expanded the mind and tested the limits of possibilities. As simple games evolved in complexity, and as lessons were learned in school, eventually the programmer had reached a point where QBasic became the limitation. The now college-student expanded the hobby into C++, but that didn't take hold until almost 15 years later. After that
Tragedy! On a fated day in 2001, all of the data was lost from the hard drive. This was an important lesson in backups, as the only backups that existed survived (barely) on a few floppy disks from 1998. While this was a major blow to the hobby, the programmer relented and moved the hobby to C++. In 2010, the first prototype of "Super Bugman Extreme Ultra" was born, and yet, while still a hobby, it eventually became a full-fledged and complete game.
